Your Privacy Matters
At NameQuick, we understand that your files contain sensitive information. That's why we've built our app with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains how we handle your data with complete transparency.
Data Collection & Processing
Cloud Processing Options
For users who choose cloud-based AI services:
Managed AI (Our Service)
- Files are temporarily processed by Google Gemini AI
- We use paid API keys with enterprise data protection
- Google explicitly states: “When you're using Paid Services, Google doesn't use your prompts or responses to improve our products”
- To process a file, it is transmitted over an encrypted connection and held briefly in a private, access-restricted storage bucket used only for processing
- Files are deleted immediately after processing completes, and automatically within 24 hours at the latest
- No long-term storage of your file contents
Self-managed with your own API keys
- You use your own API keys from Anthropic Claude, OpenRouter, Google Gemini, Mistral, or OpenAI, or an OpenAI-compatible server you choose, such as your university's AI gateway
- Direct communication between your computer and your chosen AI provider
- We never see or store your API keys (secured in the macOS Keychain or the Windows Credential Manager)
- Data handling follows your chosen provider's privacy policy
Local Processing with Ollama/LM Studio/MLX (MLX on Apple Silicon Macs only)
- Run AI models entirely on your computer—nothing leaves your device
- Maximum privacy: no network requests to any AI provider
- Works completely offline once models are downloaded
- You control which models to use and when to update them
Important Privacy Guarantees
- No Training on Your Data: Your files are never used to train or improve AI models
- No Access by Developers: We have no access to your files or their contents
- Local Processing: With local models, file content stays on your device. With Managed AI or your own cloud key, the content (text or page image) is sent to the chosen AI provider for naming
- Prompt Deletion: Files sent for processing are deleted immediately after processing completes, and automatically within 24 hours at the latest
- 100% Offline Option: Use Ollama, LM Studio or MLX (Apple Silicon Macs only) for local AI—nothing leaves your device
What We Do Collect
Depending on the features you use, we collect:
- License activation status (for purchased licenses)
- Usage statistics (number of files renamed, not the contents)
- Error logs (without file contents)
- App preferences and settings
- Email addresses submitted to the NameQuick Windows wait list until August 12, 2026
- Email addresses submitted to the Heft wait list
- Website usage and attribution data, described under Website Analytics below
The Windows wait list closed on August 12, 2026, and NameQuick for Windows is available. If you joined it, we used your email address only to notify you about Windows availability and early access. Wait-list emails are stored in Google Cloud Firestore in Europe. Wait-list analytics events do not include your email address. You can request removal at any time by emailing support@namequick.app.
If you join the wait list for Heft (our receipt and bookkeeping agent) on namequick.app, we store your email address together with the page you signed up on, the language and the time. We use it only to tell you about the launch of Heft. Before we send you any news, you confirm your address through a link sent by email. The addresses are kept in the same database as the Windows wait list and are not sent to analytics tools. You can request deletion at any time by emailing support@namequick.app.
Website Analytics
We measure how the website is used with three tools, none of which sets cookies:
- OpenPanel for page, button, download-handoff, and checkout analytics
- Vercel Analytics for aggregate website usage
- Ahrefs Web Analytics for aggregate traffic statistics such as page views, referrers, and country
This can include page URLs, referrers, campaign parameters, Google click identifiers, device class, download-handoff events, and the product, price, and identifiers of a checkout. We do not send file contents, filenames, payment-card details, or wait-list email addresses as part of these analytics events.
To see which page brought you to NameQuick, the website keeps a small attribution record in your browser's storage: the page you landed on, the referrer, campaign parameters and click identifiers from the link you followed, and a random conversion trace identifier. It is sent with OpenPanel events and with your checkout. You can remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser.

For Windows Wait List Users

When using your own API keys, data handling follows the privacy policies of your chosen provider:
Data Security
