Who is it for?
Freelancers, sole traders and small companies, whatever the legal form. It also works with a private account you pay business costs from. Bank connections start in Germany and neighbouring countries, so tell us your country when you sign up. Full bookkeeping follows, starting in Germany.
Is Heft an accountant?
No. Heft is software: it collects your receipts and hands the month to your accountant, with a list of anything still open. Tax advice stays with a licensed adviser.
Does it give tax advice?
No. The agent does the work and explains what it did. Tax questions go to your accountant instead of being guessed.
Can I keep my current accountant?
Yes. Each month they get the receipts Heft found and a list of the open ones, in a format their software reads or by email. We agree the format with them when you start.
What if my supplier's portal isn't supported?
There's no fixed list. The agent learns a portal the first time you sign in with it. If a portal blocks it, it asks you for the receipt instead of failing quietly.
What does the agent never do alone?
Send, submit, sign or pay. It prepares those and waits for your approval. Bank access is read-only, so it can't move money.
What happens to my data?
Your data is processed in the EU, you can export it at any time, and it is never used for AI training. Retention, deletion and every service provider are in the data processing agreement you get before you connect an account.
