Is Heft an accountant?
No. Heft is software: it collects your receipts and hands your accountant a complete month. Anything that needs a licensed adviser, such as tax advice, stays with them.
Who is it for?
The receipt agent works for any business, whatever its legal form, freelancers included. Bank connections start in Germany and neighbouring countries, so tell us your country when you sign up and we'll say when yours is ready. In Germany, a bookkeeper for GmbH and UG follows.
Can I keep my current accountant?
Yes. The agent works for them: every month it delivers a complete month, in the format their software reads or by email.
What if my supplier's portal isn't supported?
There's no list to be on. The agent learns a portal the first time you log in with it. If a portal blocks it, it asks you for the receipt instead.
What does the agent never do alone?
Send anything, pay, sign or write to anyone on your behalf. It prepares those and waits for your approval. It can't move money: bank access is read-only.
What happens to my data?
It is kept for the full retention period the law requires (in Germany, under GoBD), even after you cancel, and you can export everything at any time. It is never used to train models.
