Features

  • Find duplicates. All Files has a new "Find duplicates…" action (the ⋯ menu): it scans your folders, groups exact copies for review, and moves the ones you confirm to the Recycle Bin — with a receipt of everything that was cleaned up.
  • The Assistant can now do the work. Ask in plain language and it reads your library and selection, proposes renames you approve before anything happens, and can build or edit Templates and Rules for you. Type @ to point it at a Template or Rule, press Stop any time, and the conversation follows you across screens.
  • Rules grew teeth. A rule can fire the moment a file arrives and now also keep its name while filing it away — moving or trashing it by the conditions you set. Several matching rules run together, and NameQuick suggests a rule when it notices you filing the same kind of file to the same place by hand.
  • Email Ingest, rebuilt around doing. The connected view is now status plus actions: run a sender scan with a chosen depth, watch results arrive live, stop them the moment you have enough, ignore a sender for good, and put a watched folder straight onto a scan row.
  • Bring your own local model. Connect Ollama or LM Studio from Settings → AI and run renames through models on your own machine — nothing leaves it. Photographed receipts and screenshots are read too, so image-only documents become searchable and renamable.

Improvements

  • A first run that ends in the product. Onboarding finishes with a free rename of a bundled sample on the real lane, and checkout opens inside the app instead of bouncing to the browser.
  • The run queue you can steer. Every waiting file is visible and skippable mid-run, with a live pointer to the file being worked on and a Queued lens in All Files.
  • Watch folders that keep their nerve. Pausing answers immediately, cloud-sync write-backs no longer trigger re-renames, one unreadable folder stops freezing the others, and re-adding a removed folder clears its old exclusions.
  • History tells the truth. Batch runs appear as expandable stacks with every file, and if something outside NameQuick undoes a rename, History records it instead of freezing.
  • Big batches account for themselves. Large runs end with an inventory receipt, and the failure receipt gained a Retry that targets exactly the rows a fresh attempt could fix.
  • Presets and Rules editors go full-pane, and a delete that would break something now says what holds it — with a button straight to it.
  • German throughout, properly reviewed. The new surfaces ship with native-reviewed German copy in the du-form.

Fixes

  • A Template's separator setting is now actually applied — it used to be saved and silently ignored — and a custom separator accepts any character a file name allows, hyphen included.
  • Models installed in Ollama are listed correctly instead of showing a Get button, and LM Studio now receives PDF text, not just plain files.
