Suggested names are now clearly suggestions, with Apply, Keep and inline editing right on the row; Space peeks into a file; billing hiccups say what actually happened instead of "offline".
Changes
- A suggested name no longer looks like a done rename. In All Files the row keeps the file's current name and shows the proposed name underneath it. Every suggested row has its own Apply; ⌘↩ (Ctrl+Enter on Windows) applies the highlighted one. Click the proposed line to edit it before applying. When suggestions are ready, a strip above the list says how many, with Apply all and Review, and the filter chip reads "Suggested" instead of "Review".
- Peek with Space. Highlight a row and press Space for a large preview of the file (images, PDFs, SVG, iWork, text and Office documents). ↑↓ move the preview to the next file, Space or Esc closes it, and it opens and closes with the same motion as the assistant card. Selecting a row with the keyboard is now Ctrl+Space.
- Rename by hand, right in the list. Choose Rename… from a row's menu, or press Return or F2, to edit the file name in place with the stem preselected. The change is recorded as "Edited by you". A file you rename in Finder or Explorer while NameQuick is open follows along instead of turning into a missing twin and a new untouched row.
- Keep original is remembered. A suggestion you decline is not proposed again on the next automatic pass, so nothing is billed twice for a name you already refused. The row reads Kept, the details pane names the declined suggestion, and Suggest again in the row menu asks anew. If the file's content changes, suggestions resume.
- A file that changed after it was suggested says so. Applying it is refused with "Changed since suggested" instead of failing quietly.
- Billing answers are no longer reported as "offline". When the billing service refuses a request, the run pauses and says why — account not found, not entitled, or a server error — with a Retry, instead of "Waiting for connection". A real network outage still waits, now with sensible backoff. Self-Managed runs with your own key are no longer held up by the state of NameQuick's own service.
- Checkout recovers from a stale account. If the billing service no longer knows the account this installation was bound to, "Buy full license" retries without the stale binding and tells you what happened instead of a generic server error.
- The sorting-rules invitation moved out of All Files. The permanent "No folder here has sorting rules yet" row is gone. The offer to propose folders now lives on the Rules screen when you have no rules, in the context menu of a folder in the sidebar, and as a dismissable suggestion in the assistant. A bug that could stop "Propose folders" from opening at all is fixed.
