This update adds an integrated Quick Rename workspace and a redesigned Review experience, with a clearer History timeline and reliability improvements across local AI, templates, Watch Folders, processing, and licensing.

New

• Quick Rename now works in the main window. Add or drop more files into the current batch without replacing staged work, choose whether to review names before applying them, and inspect proposed changes alongside the file list.
• Review is now a decision workbench. A persistent queue groups items needing attention, opens focused evidence and actions, supports saving individual missing details, and can dismiss the visible queue without changing files.
• New Photos starter template. Create photo names from Date Taken and an AI-generated subject when capture metadata is available.

Improvements

• History is easier to scan. The full-width audit trail now emphasizes previous and new names, destinations, and undo receipts on one continuous timeline, while actionable recovery stays in Review.
• Cleaner native toolbar and navigation. Search, view, inspector, license, and file controls now use the macOS toolbar, while route changes and sidebar selection settle more smoothly.
• Faster multi-file selection. Shift-click checkboxes to select ranges, extend a selection with the keyboard, or drag across tiles in grid view. Row actions stay out of the way until you hover.
• More dependable local custom prompts. Local runs preserve more requested naming parts, allow the selected model enough output space, use the original filename as supporting evidence, and send truncated or uncertain results to Review.
• Clearer local-model guidance. NameQuick now explains when a smaller local model may be less reliable for a task and keeps that guidance available without blocking your work.
• More complete rules editing. Conditional rules in templates can use every supported action directly, with clearer action labels in the editor.
• Better batch recovery. Provider outages pause remaining files instead of failing the queue, and file-specific preparation problems no longer make NameQuick treat the whole provider as unavailable.
• Smoother large batches. File lists, Review rows, progress controls, and Quick Rename transitions now update with less jumping or stale information.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed incompatible MLX runtimes appearing installed. NameQuick now verifies a downloaded runtime before replacing the working copy, so a broken package fails clearly instead of entering a repeated repair loop.
• Fixed uncertain Smart Rename output becoming a filename. Missing evidence, conflicting AI output, or uncertainty text now sends a suggestion to Review instead of applying a placeholder or stale name.
• Fixed optional template fields receiving old fallback values. Optional fields now stay empty when no value is found instead of silently inserting a saved default.
• Fixed removed Watch Folders continuing to scan. Removing a watched folder now cancels its active catalog scan and clears the related progress state.
• Fixed moved or missing files showing false processing failures. NameQuick now follows tracked relocations and skips files that genuinely disappeared instead of reporting misleading file-not-found errors.
• Fixed licensing controls leading to dead ends. Status checks open details before upgrade actions, active-license revalidation keeps queued work waiting, and Self-Managed repair states provide a clear sign-out or license-entry path.
• Fixed the Permissions menu opening the wrong settings page. Choosing Permissions… from the app menu now always opens General settings, where system permissions live.
• Fixed repeated upgrade prompts. When a plan or trial is out of credits, NameQuick shows one clear upgrade prompt and keeps waiting files queued.
